At the end of the day everything you see is converted to RGB be it on plasma,projector or crt. component is compressed whichever way you look at it and it can be argued that it is not possible to produce every colour using component. Ok, so DVD stores the picture as component and you can't make something out of nothing, but the only reason that component may outperform RGB
is because of the tweaks (progressive) done to it because ntsc was so junk in the first place.
